PADI Drift Diver Specialty

5-4 cottonwicksThe PADI Drift Diver Specialty course introduces you to the coolest magic carpet ride you’ll ever experience. This course shows you how to enjoy rivers and ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat and knowing where you are the whole time.

Most of the diving in Palm Beach County is drift diving, so why not learn from the experts?

Deep Diver

After your first few scuba dives, you soon want to explore a bit deeper. There’s something exciting and mysterious about the deep that attracts some divers.

Here are some of the things you will learn:
  • Techniques for diving in the deeper range of 18-40 metres/ 60-130 feet
  • Deep scuba diving equipment considerations
  • Experience in planning, organizing and making at least four deep dives under the supervision of your PADI Instructor

PADI Fish ID Specialty

Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty

class 16What is neutral buoyancy? Scuba divers like to be neutrally buoyant so they neither sink nor float. It can be a tricky thing. Divers who’ve mastered the highest performance levels in buoyancy stand apart. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover, almost as if by thought. They interact gently with aquatic life and affect their surroundings minimally. Spearfishing Basic Course

General wisdom states that 10% of the hunters get 90% of the fish & lobster. Our goal is to give you the basic hunting and collecting skills you will need to become part of that “10%”.  With an emphasis on Safety, learn the basics of spearfishing, lobstering, and collecting  with a PADI Instructor.  Skills such as how to choose the proper gun, loading and aiming techniques, spearfishing safety, basic shooting techniques, edible fish identification, basic hunting & stalking skills, and much more are taught in this course.

Underwater Navigator

Underwater Photography

Wreck Diver

10-3-13 WRECKWhether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef or the result of mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, airplanes and even automobiles nearly irresistible because they’re intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

Self-Reliant Diver

The purpose of this Course is to recognize and accept the role of the buddy system and its contribution to diver safety while identifying and developing self-reliance and independence while diving

Skills, Knowledge, and Techniques To Be Developed
  • Value and application of the buddy system
  • Philosophy of, and motivation for, diving without a partner
  • Potential risks of diving alone, and how to manage such risks
  • Value of equipment redundancy and what back up equipment is needed
  • Dive planning and gas management
7-8 mantaStudent Pre-Requisites
  • Must be PADI Advanced Open Water Certified or qualifying agency advanced certification
  • Minimum of 100 logged dives
  • Be at least 18 years of age
Certification Process and Requirements
  • Attend course knowledge presentation and review
  • Complete course skills assessment
  • Complete the 3 Open Water dives and all skills at Blue Heron Bridge and aboard our Dive Boat
  • Complete the Knowledge Review

Become a Master Scuba Diver

You have the passion! Do you want to join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving? The Master Scuba Diver Course is for you. This certification will bring you to the highest level of training on the recreational side of the house.

Here is what it takes to get there:
  • At least 12 years old
  • PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • PADI Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • Minimum of 50 logged dives
  • Minimum of five PADI Specialty Diver courses (listed above)
