Advanced

Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills, so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. The 2 dives that are required are a Deep dive as well as an Underwater Navigation dive.

Prerequisites: Open Water DiverEnriched Air Diver is recommended

What You'll Learn

  • Safely dive in Jupiter's currents

  • Deploying and using a SMB

  • Using a reel or finger spool

  • Deploying a SMB at depth

  • Diving safely from a boat

  • Improving your buoyancy

Also required: BCD, regulator set with timing device, weights, tanks, and a wetsuit (recommended). These items can be purchased or rented at Scuba Works.

Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver course provides the opportunity to improve self-rescue skills while also learning to safely assist other divers in distress. The course stresses personal safety and self-awareness while developing the ability to recognize and prevent many diving problems. This is one of the most fun and rewarding courses. You must be 12 years or older.

 

Prerequisite: Advanced Open Watercurrent Basic First Aid and CPR; (O2 Provider course recommended, but not required).

Basic First Aid and CPR

First Aid and CPR are good skills for everyday life, but when it comes to actions sports like scuba, it is a necessity. This training is a prerequisite for Rescue Diver.

  • AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)

Master Scuba Diver

You have the passion! Do you want to join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving? The Master Scuba Diver course is for you. This certification will bring you to the highest level of recreational training. To earn this distinction, a diver has reached the level of Rescue Diver, completed at least five PADI Specialty certifications, and has a minimum of 50 logged dives. You must be 12 years or older.

PADI Divemaster 

The PADI Divemaster course will transform you from a recreational diver into a professional underwater adventure guide. Exploring a career in diving? Or you just want to help your local dive shop on the weekends; the Divemaster course will give you the tools to get you there. Master Scuba Diver Trainers, IDC Staff Instructors, and a PADI Course Director will ensure that courses are taught by highly experienced professionals. These seasoned instructors share experiences and techniques that go far beyond those outlined in the standard Divemaster course! You must have 40 logged dives by the time you begin the training (and 60 dives prior to final certification). You must be 18 years or older. DAN member insurance or equivalent is required.

Prerequisites: Rescue Diver, Enriched Air Diver

  • Divemaster Training

  • 2 training boat trips

Complete Prerequisites

  • 18 years old

  • Advanced Open Water (PADI or qualifying certification from another training organization)

  • Rescue Diver certification and EFR with AED (PADI or qualifying certification from another training organization)

  • 40 logged dives (60 prior to final certification)

  • Diving physical signed within the past year

  • DAN member insurance or equivalent
